Hey everyone, new to the group and have already found some very valuable information here. I purchased a 1979 Cherokee Chief last month and the seller listed it as having a 4" lift kit (manufacture unknown). However, I'm questioning if it's a 6" lift. Here are my measurements with 33" tires: center line bottom of the rocker panel 21 1/4", rear center roof 75 1/4", front wheel well 37", rear wheel well 39 1/2. If anyone with 33" tall tires can share their measurements I'd be grateful.

On my J10 with a 6” lift I get the following when I measure from center of hub to the edge of the flare.
Front: 24.5”
Rear: 24.5”
The rear however is not 6” springs. It’s an AAL and a 4” block. So real 6” springs may be a bit higher. I never replaced it with 6” springs as I intended to do a shackle flip instead. It just has not happened yet
My 90 with new 6 pack springs in front and 5 packcin rear made in usa oem height. With 235-75-15 tires aka 29.5 i believe.. measures 31 in the front and 29 and change in the rear.. this is from the ground to the bottom of the wheel wells.
Thats what stock height should give you.
Now you just gatta go off this and add the tire difference in height in your tires and subtract yours from my numbers and if its 3-4 inchs then you git a 4 inchs lift.. if its less than that then you probly dont

He has a WT, so the measurements will be quite a bit different for a Waggy. And also why its good to measure from the hub, then tire size is not a factor.
If they don't have tapered ends and look less than 8ish years old they are Rough Country. They might be branded as something else but that's who makes them. I have the full spring lift on mine (no blocks in back). I went and flexed them a bunch when they were new to soften them up but they are a little harsher than BDS or similar. Putting on better shocks (not the crappy RC shocks that come in the kit) improved my ride quite a bit. The Skyjacker shocks are really soft but I've read from a few posts that they are too soft maybe and give lots of sway on the highway.
