I am wrapping up my Dana 60 J20 axle build to swap into the j2000 and down to calipers and hoses before it can get swapped under. The passenger side measures 5/8 from the bracket to the back of the rotor and the driver side measures 13/16. I'm not understanding why this is but both sides the bearings are seated correctly. Its noticeable when you step back and look at it. Looks like the driver side hub isnt seated fully but it sure feels like it is. Any ideas whats going on or is this just the nature of the beast? I feel like a 5/16 difference is going to cause some serious brake issues here. It's kind of a b*tch holding this beast down and torquing the driver side bearing on the bench because the pinion tires to rotate upward, passenger side it pushed down against the bench and wasn't an issue. I have never had any good luck posting pics so I am not going to try at this time
The races are definitely seated. New seals also. I am going to pull that side back apart thus weekend and make sure there isnt anything like a burr or something on the spindle. I didn't notice anything but it's worth checking again. Also was wondering how people that have done the conversion have the caliper brackets clocked
