Motorcycle ID?

Post by 66stepside »

I went to an estate sale today and came across this:

It was wedged in-between a bunch of stuff and no one seemed to know too much about it- other than a it’s a Yamaha and it’s a one cylinder.

Can anyone ID this beast?

Hard to tell specifically. Looks to have a disc brake up front so you could probably scratch anything older than late 80s. I’d guess an XT but size is impossible without better pics. Buy it!

Thats an 86-87 TT 350. Only those years had the TT with the vertical lines through them. Its a good bike, pretty high end for its time with a DOHC 4V head, front disc brake, and dual carbs. I would have totally bought it.

I was thinking it was YZ 490. I got the number for the bike, but wasn’t sure what to offer.

Now the research begins?!
