Bulldog - 12/27

Post by will e »

I am probably going to do a bulldog run on the 27th. Derek has the monster running again so a bit of a shake down run.
My buddy might join and let his daughter drive. She's on her permit so last time she drove bulldog it was slow going.
We will stop for lunch and enjoy the views.

10am at the Ellsworth entrance. (3554)

You need a permit. They are free:

So FaR:
Mike
Drew
Derek
Josh - Oh Yeah, he's in
Gregg and his wife.

I'm in, though I'm responding before talking to my wife. But I need a shake down run and am off work that day. Have had the jeep out in the desert a bit lately to check things and think I'm ready for a run. Plus, my dad will be in town and my son *might* have his permit...

Haha, should I bring my spare timing cover?

Derek said he will be ready by Tuesday. My buddy Chris is probably going to join use as well (JKU).

Bummer guys. Tad - You would probably find the trail a bit to easy. ;) But we should start figuring out a date for doing Ajax. How does the rest of that week look for ya?

That's great Josh and Jeff! I figure we meet at the Ellsworth entrance (3554). Let's say 10am? We will run that to fr10 and then head south and out Wolverine. There is a great lunch spot about 1/4 south of the intersection of 3554 and 10. My buddy Chris might want to head north to exit Bush Highway (closer to scottsdale) so maybe a couple of us run him out and then head back. I figure then head out wolverine pass. If we are doing okay time wise maybe hit 1356 out to SR88. I have never tried this part.

We can play the whole thing by ear. We may have a couple of newbie drivers that are going slow so maybe some of the group goes ahead? Whatever we do it will be fun!

Also, does anyone have a spare seat? Nick has never been wheeling and his truck might not be operable but he would love to ride along.

Are we going to take a long enough lunch break that it would be worth bringing a small grill? Or is it munch and go?

Got my permit in email! We're still in! Getting the Jeep cleaned up today.

I also now have a new driver in our house as of this morning. If anyone is uncomfortable with him driving the trail let me know. He does have a ton of atv (Polaris) experience in the forest, but I want to be respectful of everyone. I don't think there's an issue but don't want to upset people.

Looking forward to it! And Mike, this is where we led the baby jeeps that one time, right?

Well it looks like we are out. I put in for a permit Friday morning. Still haven't got it. Tried calling right now. All get is a recording. So they must be closed today. Frickin Government.
