I wanna go, but I'm trying to do Rubicon run in my cj5 around the same dates or hopefully after. I will do both if possible!
I'll sleep in the back of my truck in a parking lot if I have to. Wow... I'm in a jam

With all the people and stuff you brought last time You need your own campground.. Everyday was new surprises..
I plan on being there again. Just started on a buddy last night to start saving. I've got $600 in my 2013 Ouray fund already. Of course that gets robbed throughout the year. X(

So you're saying its worth it to get your rig to run above tree line? I'll mess with it and hopefully get a little higher next year. Toms78 now known as Yepa401

I just dropped my block and crank off today at the machinist and knowing how fast he works...my plan is to trailer my Jeep up there and have one of you guys pull me up the mountains. LOL!

OK, I see there may be some resistance in MOVING here. The poll on the mothership is good until Nov 5 at midnight. I will wait and see how that comes out before changing user names on the map. Maybe I should just use real names and cornfuse the heck out of everyone.
For those coming from out of town, I'd like to place an offer...I'm a mechanic in Wheat Ridge (just west of Denver off of I70) and would be able to help incoming members make some repairs or have needed replacement parts waiting. Anyways, excited to meet some of you all!

Thanks for the offer.. One never knows when help is needed. I personally carry a list of members from many states out west and back here in the east, just in case the need arises. Would like to put you on that list as well.
I kind of like to get around the USA as often as I can and find it mentally comfortable to do it knowing where help is. I've been lucky and only have used it for "just visiting" purposes so far.
I'm also willing to help anyone out that rolls through the Northern KY area that needs a hand, whether it is a Jeep trip or other vehicle. I'm no mechanic but I have slept in a Holiday Inn before and usually have a ton of extra parts around and I'm in pretty good with a couple of local mechanics. Plus a car hauler, if it's a long distance haul I take donations .

For the folks that are interested. I put together a contact list last year for the folks going to the invasion, I can do it again this year if there's enough interest.

You know it's bad when your car is on the EPA's 10 most wanted list!

You really don't need to plan that.
Someone will get strapped up (or down) something at some point.

The cabins are pretty bare bones. No bathroom (in the cabins) and just a couple of power receptacles and a couple of small beds. Our cabin had a bunk bed. Basically just a small single room.
The trails are all very easy. Pretty much any vehicle with low range can do them. Some of the trails are a little more challenging and there are even some optional obstacles that are pretty tough, but you can simply drive around them. Tad took some sort of Infinity, rice burning 4x4 suv and it did great. A stock jeep is fine. Austin took a bone stone waggy over Blackbear pass
Ouray is the best and most scenic part of Colorado IMHO. Well worth it.

This all I can help you out with.... I thought they were pretty good no room service or pillow fluffers so bring your own pillows, sheets and trash bags, having power there was good for my crock pot. It was cool to sit on the porch (in a swing) when it rained last year :- .
So, as much as I was looking forward to this event this summer bigger things have come up; my wife is pregnant and due July 4th! Still, if anyone is passing thru and needs a hand let me know.

I know another couple who didn't let their wedding or the birth of their first child stop them from Ouray. As a matter of fact I believe she was timing it to give birth up on Imogene Pass. They were a few days too early. I bet they would of gotten married there as well instead of just spending their honey moon with us a few years back.
I've been known to go visiting when I'm out running around the Rockies.
