We put the springs in today. I believe that the FSSR and the Rancho 44044's are going to be the best 4" lift option for ride quality.

Hi Rock, a favor to ask: educate me on the Chevy brake caliper mod. I've got a '79 Wag. and when I bought new brake pads for it the parts guy said he thought that they were a standard Chevy PN. Would this be a viable option for me? It's a Wagoneer Limited if it makes a difference. Thanks.

Install the calipers and pads from an '85 Chevy 2500. They bolt right up but you'll need to grind part of the guides for the brake line around the bango bolts. However, install the bolt while grinding the clearance for the brake line because one small nick on the seal area will prevent the bango from sealing. The reman' Chevy calipers only cost me $17 ea.

We received the other parts from BJs. Floor pans, brake lines etc and we finished up on the cargo area today and started on cutting out the front floors. Check out what we had to cut out and then I'll post the others as we make progress.

It took us all week to do the cargo area and I expect that we'll have the oter areas done next week.

We received the Lizard Skin ceramic insulation kit today--it looked bigger in the pictures. :-? We'll coat it next week and post some pictures  Replacing the floor and all the cut-n and weld-n took most of two weeks. Shortly we'll be into the Build-up part of the process: sourcing fuel injection and AX15, paint and interior.

OK, some pictures of the restoration. We laid down the Lizard Skin and it does go further (more coverage) than you would think. Also, we have a painter on line to paint it Forest Green. Does anyone have the code for the Jeep forest green? Check it out:

We're going to have Flat Black accents on the bottom rockers and around the side window.

Looking good

1986 Jeep Grand Wagoneer AMC 360" AKA Golddigger- SOLD
2003 Dodge Crewcab 2500 Cummins longbed 4x4

Alternators, winches, 4x4, guns all have the same issue if you don't have any knowledge of them usually bad things will happen. Serehill

What do you guys think would look better with black interior. Laden or forest green?

Me too but with cream interior. I'm thinking the Forest with black may not be enough of a contrast. Any input?
Also, I found that the manual crank gear on the tailgate is stripped. What's the best way to repair or replace the mech' on these? TeamWagoneer's part is unavailable.

Have to give you credit for the work because I would scrap one with that much rust. Great Work! :-bd

I like a lighter green personally. Actually an aqua marine would be my fave.

I know but the outside had very little rust. Just two small cancer spots at the rear molding. I'm leaning to the lighter green with black interior.
If I were to make a new gear set for my tailgate, would there be a market for them? If I do it I'd probably have 10 made to sell to others with the same issue.

We finished the undercoating and frame paint, installed the BJ's body mounts and got it ready to make the trip to the painter tomorrow. It's coming along and I'm glad the rust work is behind us.. :geek:

Rocky,

I have OEM paint chips at home for 1982 AMC Jeep. Should be the same color code. I will get it for you after my shift tonite.

OK, I purchased an AX15 to bolt into the Cherokee but found that our Tcases are and inch too deep to bolt up. Does anyone make a Clocking ring or spacer to fit an older NP case to the newer transmissions?
