Its been a long time since I have even seen one offered up. The radios themselves are becoming more rare. Anybody that is trying to get a factory look would want one. So they are rare, but not sure on value.
If you want to sell them, I don't think there's much value in the AMC logo. You'd need exactly the right buyer and it might be years before you sell it for a premium price because it's AMC. Rare does not guarantee it's valuable. I'd look at the cost of a similar mic new, and sell a used one for half that. It will be worth more if you can test it. Makes you wonder why it's separated from the radio. Looks like the 4-pin connector is standardized, so you should be able to plug it in to any CB radio.

I bought a CB/AM/FM radio since mine was missing. I bought a new mic online and it seems like the mic is always cued (in transmit mode). When I push the button it goes to receive.
I’m wondering if the AMC radio is set to use a mic with a normally closed switch and the one I bought is normally open?

Question about the AMC mic vs. a new one.

Or is my radio messed up?
Does anyone have any experience with this?

I imagine the mic has 4 leads and ground. The connector grounds the shielding on the mic cable, but does nothing else. There are two wires for the microphone element, not polar. It's probably a dynamic microphone, which is like a loudspeaker in reverse. Sound waves move a coil of fine wire in the field of a permanent magnet and make a signal. The other two wires are the switch, which should be PTT. You can easily test this with your multimeter.
I suppose the AMC mic could be backwards from other CBs. The new microphone may have a way internally to select NO or NC for the switch. Does the microphone come apart? I would take it apart and look. The seller here could test their mics, if willing, and report back.
