Weatherstripping

Post by 1988SCWaggy »

My 1988 GW has weather stripping on both front doors that stops at the same point. Is this where it should stop? There is a fair amount of wind noise (I know it will always be loud), just wondering if this is correct.

Thanks.

You say weather stripping....or are you referring to the rubber door seal, which usually starts/stops at center bottom on threshold as a single piece?

Been a long time since I took them off for painting and the doors are buried in the shed but I have the seals and mine are longer than that. Like long enough to go to the top of the door and that's what I seem to remember. Does yours continue down the front of the door? Looks like it ends at the bend. Are there holes out of view above where your seal ends?

Ok, did not see pic before I wrote back.

Possible to replace with new, or get some foam stripping to beef up what you already have where you are hearing wind noise?

Thanks everyone. I have seen other photos of this part of other GWs (in great shape) and that rubber strip ends at the same place. So, I guess it is "right." Thanks again.
