Looking at a 69 wag....

Post by Phils67 »

I'm talking blind to someone about a 69 wag. Awaiting pics but the price is cheap. Missing transfer case so far is all I know. Unknown V8. I assume buick 350 right? And I assume D20 transfer?

A '69 _ should_ be a 350/TH400/D20 drive train. If it's an automatic. Manual transmission Wagoneers are not common, but would be a T-15 (near certain) or T-18. Dana 44 rear that could be either the nutted (tapered) axle or the one-piece (flanged) axle. '69 is on the cusp for the rear axle. A tapered axle will have a Dana Powr Lock if so equipped, and a flanged axle will be a Dana Trak Lock. Front axle is a Dana 27 (ugh). 11"x2" Bendix drum brakes.

NB '68-70 are the nominal years for a 350, so you are well within that - though year assignment was loose in this era.
