window felt

Post by JA77Wagoneer »

New to the site and the Jeep community and trying to get my 77 Wagoneer sealed up for the rainy season here in the PNW. I see that I can buy a lot of the seals from TGW and BJs but I don't see the window felts offered on these sites. Does anyone have a source for these and size? Most of mine are completely gone so want to make sure I am ordering the right parts. Seems like it should be a 7/16 x 7/16 felt but I mostly see 1/2" offered on various sites. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Do you mean the window wipes? They run along the edge of the glass on both sides of the door (glass slides between the two).

I'm working on my 72 in the PNW, and just about to pull the trigger on a bunch of weather stripping.

No I was looking for the felt that the window slides up and down in. BJ's offers it as a set only, track w felt installed.

Let me know what you buy for weather-stripping as I have read the door seals in the available kits don't work well for the older wagoneers.

Nice looking 72. Yours looks to be a lot more complete than mine!
I'm located Vancouver Wa. With this being my first jeep I'm looking forward to finding out about any meet ups to see other rigs and gain knowledge.

Right on, I’ll let you know how it goes. I’m looking at picking up the tailgate kit from TGW, I’m a little concerned about the window seal to the body, as mine appears to be a solid one piece track, whee the TGW piece looks flexible.
I’m in Portland so close by!

I have not had the available door seals work on either older or newer FSJs. All of them have issues closing the doors.

I’m not 100% sure this will work but I repaired my TR this way. Worked great.
Go buy long Velcro strips. Throw the hook side away, the soft side you’ll use, be sure to get strips with adhesive backing. Clean up the channels and these drop right in, trim to length and whatever hangs out past the U channel. Mine have been in a few years now with no problems. They look stock, work well and you can’t beat the price.
