Is there anywhere a guy could find the Alternator bracket for a 77 Cherokee 360 with AC? PO removed AC, but I wanted to re-install it and his home made thing won't work with the AC in place. I will order the bull-tear one if its not possible to get one that will work with AC in place.
Thanks!
I will check the parts book later, but I suspect you can take the brackets from any 304/360/401 in the era and they will be the same. With and without air conditioning is different, so you'll need to be aware of that. Most of these Jeeps had power steering and air conditioning, so those brackets should be relatively plentiful. I recall AMC switched the alternator to a Delco 10SI type in 1978, so you may want to upgrade to that bracket set rather than insist on replacement brackets for a '77.
Try the WTB section here and and at IFSJA. There are Jeep junkyards too - it would help to include your location in every post. Your profile is intended to help you convey both your location and year/model/equipment in every post. https://www.fsjnetwork.com/forum/member ... ile&u=9889

Blockchain the vote.
Not at all concerned with what year its for or even who makes it so long as it will fit. The usual Google and eBay searches come up with stuff for a SBC that is somehow cross-linked to AMC (usually by folks typing NOT AMC in keywords).
A WTB ad was my next step if no one could suggest a readily available aftermarket one.
Appreciate it!
Mmm ... not much hope for aftermarket support for something like that.
The parts book shows the same illustration for '76-80. '76-77 uses the Motorcraft alternator. '75 and earlier uses the Motorola alternator, and is completely different. The Motorcraft alternator is ok, though it uses a seemingly-primitive external mechanical regulator. I would go '78 or later and use the superior Delco alternator, which eliminates the external voltage regulator. I'd get all the brackets on that side of the engine.
