I'm the proud new owner of a 1970 emerald green J2000. I've always wanted a J truck and finally got to the point of owning one. I'm located in Rogers County Oklahoma. Although I'm new to FSJ's I'm not new to the offroad world. I've owned a custom offroad fabrication shop, built 100's of vehicles from simple lift kits to full tube chassis. Competed in rock crawling at a professional level (WeRock, ProRock, Eroc, Uroc, ect) on and off for the last 20 years and in good years put more miles in the dirt than most put on pavement. I'm really looking forward to this adventure of driving the truck as is completely stock and finding what I like and don't like about it and modifying it to suit my wants and needs. I'm also looking forward to meeting some new folks, and you never know I may already know a few you.
I'll post up pics once I take more...LOL and learn the ins and outs of your site.

Thanks guys appreciate the welcome. I actually have not taken delivery, I bought it from a good friend in South Carolina. Basically bought it sight unseen but I trust my friend and he’s been around the truck for the last 30 years. Knowing him it’s probably in better shape than he says it is, I’ll know for sure in 2 weeks.
What I do know is, it runs, drives and stops. Has a Buick 350, turbo 400 and Dana 20. It is very original except a repaint in the late 80’s. From the pics I’ve seen it is a very solid sound old truck. I’m super excited to go get it and begin a new project.

Well I finally got it picked up. I have more details and some better pics

Other than the paint on the hood it’s condition is exceptional especially knowing the trucks use for the last 30 years. Truck drives out really nice. I get it home and get the brakes sorted out (broke a brake line on the test drive) a few minor repairs and some tires that aren’t 21 years old I’ll be putting some miles on it.
I do have some questions that will save me some deep dive wrenching to help make decisions while I potentially have some parts options available due to my current short term geographic location. Are the rear axles 10, 19 or 30 spline? I haven’t pulled the hub caps off to see if it is 1pc or 2pc axles yet.
Guess pics will have to wait until I can resize them but will get them up soon.

Flanged Dana 44 is 30 spline. Tapered will be 19. A '70 should have a flanged rear axle, and a TracLock if LSD (posi).
Cleans up nice!
Thanks that is very helpful! Is the front inner 30 spline as well?

Finally made it home with the truck. 2 weeks, lots of hotel rooms and work away from home. FYI nights in a hotel with nothing to do can be dangerous to your credit card have new tires, wheels, shocks and parts to do a disc brake swap on the front. Today off to the tag office and get the tires mounted/installed. All 4 of the 21 year old Goodyear’s on it are may pops doing the thumpity thump thump lol

Really happy with how it’s coming together, tires and wheels look great and do fit perfectly without rubbing anywhere. Did learn the front inner axles are 19 spline so at some point a new front axle with be in the works.
As for the wheels they were my second choice, I was wanting retain the poverty caps and rings, they were on back order for several months. I did order the center caps they will be here in a couple of weeks. May put rings on them too we’ll see. Here’s the link https://www.jegs.com/i/JEGS/555/681218/10002/-1

I would recommend 74-79 J10 or 75-79 wide track Cherokee front axle swap if you can find one. You going to lift it? I think a 2" lift would square it up with the new shoes.
