Hood latch

I need some help from the group.

While getting my 78 Cherokee repainted, the painter took the bar that the hood latches to off the radiator core support.

For clarification, I am not talking about any of the hood support bars or the hood latch mechanism.

This specific part is the round piece that the hood latch hook catches on.

Could someone take a picture of theirs?

I need to know what I am looking for. If we can’t find it I may have to make or buy one.

I can't picture in my mind what part you are talking about. Can you show us the area you are talking about? I have a 78 here. The hood latch assembly is unique to this year only.

That looks like the headlight wiring harness in the ribbed plastic loom to me.

I looked again because I see that hole is not preset on this one. The hook catches on the passenger side.
