Hello from Idaho! I am a new owner of a ‘77 Cherokee S, 360, Auto, a/c, narrow track, low range...
I have a million questions, but I’ll start with the roof. I have zero body work experience, so please forgive my ignorance. No roof rack on this one. No headliner whatsoever as well, and just some scaley surface rust, which I plan on attacking with a wire brush and some Rustoleum Rust Reformer.
My question is the roof seems higher than the adjustment available with the roof supports? Any ideas on what the gap should be? The plan is after the rust battle is won (or is it ever truly won?) to use auto body putty/glue to attach the supports. Does that seem reasonable? Or should I use some type of foam gasket with some sticky?
Thanks for taking the time to read and help!
