Remembrance today

Post by Yeller »

Big day of remembrance in Oklahoma today. April 19th 1995 9:02am the Murray building was bombed. 168 folks lost their lives and 1000’s more we’re changed forever.
The bus I ride is so short it is a yellow Smart Car full of squirrels, monkeys and clowns.

I was getting ready to go to school when it came on the news. I was in 8th grade at the time. I think it was the first time I had seen an attack of that size on US soil. It was pretty eye opening that one person could cause so much destruction.

I was in the 8th grade as well. Already in school at that time since I'm in the same time zone here. Actually visited that site about 10 years ago now on one of mine and my wife's two trips to OK. Definitely a sobering tour. We actually got to speak with a former FBI investigator who was on the case at the time.

We were wiring a house, when the news came out, one of the guys I worked with wondered where did they get that much explosives, and I remarked it was probably a diesel/fertilizer mix with an accelerant. When the news came out that, that was what it was Brother Al looked at me and asked how did you know? I was kind if surprised I had thought everybody knew how to make a explosives
