Have any of you guys had luck with the portable tent style garages? How do they hold up on the snow?

I need to get one to store my J10 but I don’t want to risk it collapsing on the Jeep. Just trying to keep the snow off over the winter.

Hey Buddy - We had a 12x20 similar to the attached link. The snow didn't build up much because of the arched roof. We lived 500' up from where we are now. The snow depths are doubled or more up there. We got it for the horses but they would not use it, goofy animals. We ended up storing hay and Jeep parts inside. I never put a Jeep in it but why not? Unfortunately the cover disintegrated in the summer of the 2nd year. You want good quality covering. Keep in mind it was 2005 when we took it down to move. Krista bought it here for around $600 back then. It is very likely the quality is better than what we experienced back then. I would expect at least a 5 year life span on the cover.

I use an ex military 9x9 tent as a temporary garage sometimes. Stood up to high winds and heavy rain and still good as new. They can be linked together or just get a bigger one. You can also get arctic linings for them

Getting the frame secured to the ground is what I worry about, saw a guy on youtube cover his with old school gal roofing because it would bend to the curve

I have used a car cover with a frame of sticks to shed snow over the bed. Works ok, and likely much cheaper than a tent. Good for two or three seasons.

That's exactly the one I've been considering. Been wondering how they fare with the snow. I see a few folks up here that have put them up thos summer but they have not been thru a winter yet. Horses, acting weird? Never! :p

Is that one of the square or the octagon ones? Green canvas? Been looking at those as well, just dunno if code enforcement would go for it LOL!
