Something kinda funny...

Post by 66stepside »

I am looking for a Super Wagoneer trim piece and I’ve been calling JEEP only wrecking yards asking for the left rear quarter panel aluminum trim piece and tailgate trim. No one has them, BUT (this is the kinda funny part)...

JW JEEP had never heard of a Super Wagoneer and the guy who answered the phone refused to believe there was such a jeep and told me to text him pictures to prove they existed! ImageImageImage

lol, yeah. I've bought parts off of them a few times, a bit pricey, but they usually have every part in stock. It was a shock, though, to have someone ask me to prove a jeep existed before they could offer to help. I sent pics, but I also sent a google search link to the topic. The whole conversation caught me off guard. I haven't heard back yet.

Yes, they are pricey... a zillions years ago, $150 for a rusty door... the pick n pull next door had a pristine rear door for $55, in fact the price so good, I took both.

Never heard of one either before a few years ago on this site but I don't know if that picher will prove it to him. I can't see where it says "Super".

Never seen a spot light mounted in the roof like that either.

Are the rigs in the photo yours? If so, I would like to see more detail of that old-school cargo rack on the wagoneer parked behind the Super. It appears to be mounted over/above the stock one.

If you find someone parting a Super and willing to send you the trim, I will be quite surprised! Even the ones that are completely eaten away seem to have owners that believe they are gold mines.

That honey comb stuff is impossible to find and from what I have read (never handled myself), it is difficult to remove without damaging.

Heck, I would just like to have a set of the gold "Super" badges..
OK, a set of gunsight would be dang cool too..
One day I will wake up and realize that my jeep is complete...one day, I just know it.

That one is a pic I had on my phone from Australia. It was converted to right hand drive by the guy who imported it.

I sent them quite a few pics, various shots. I understand not knowing about Supers (even when you work at a JEEP only wrecking yard), or other unusual rigs, but asking someone to prove their existence when there is a search engine on the phone you want them to text you at, he could’ve also searched his parts inventory... the whole thing was like a poorly written SNL skit.

I just e-mailed Mark, who usually does the online parts requests and included the funny story about the phone call. It’s always good for a laugh- not at his not knowing about this type of jeep, but his quirky weird way of handling it.

I would imagine they don’t get too many requests for Super parts; I think the high end restoration shops snag most, if not all the spare parts/rigs.

Here are some more pics of the Aussie Super:

The parts do seem like they are worth their weight on gold. Which is why I sold off the three I had.

This fourth one I have seems to be wanting to be resurrected, so I’m gathering a few needed pieces.

I sees it now.

Not a left hand drive. Obviously the picher got reversed. Better add a smiley so everybody understands my attempted sarcasm: ;)

It might be his first day at work haha. I work from home so never gonna have a similar problem. I don't really work actually, I made my hobby my job. I used to play casino for fun a lot, but since best mobile slots https://best-slotmachine.com/mobile-slots/ started to bring a good profit I started to spend more time on it and now I make really good money. Follow the link and read all the info about it, I'm sure you gonna love it.

That might explain it, but feedback online elsewhere suggests they’ve kinda hit a slump with customer service. Maybe it’s the one guy ruining it for them? I don’t know. But I never got a call back, or an email reply.

Pretty weird no matter what.
