Hey Guys! Really need your help....I have never remove a tailgate from a Wagoneer and need some pointers. I have a 1968 Wagoneer that is being prepared for a repaint. Any advice/pointer on removing g the tailgate, I have heard the two round pressure rods take some doing to release the pressure. Any tips would be extremely helpful!

Have the tailgate closed or nearly so when you remove the springs. They are not loaded in that position.

Take notes or a photo of how they are installed before removing them.
