Zip ties: A cautionary tale

Post by csuengr »

Always cut the tails off your zip ties. I was putting my transmission back in the Cherokee after replacing the slave cylinder. I had gotten five of the six bolts in and tightened and the last bolt would not thread in. Feeling with my finger I felt something springy in the way. It was the tail of a zip tie that had not only got between the bell housing and block, but through the bolt hole as well. Took 30 minutes of loosening bolts, moving the tranny jack a pair of needle nose to get it out.

Fixed spelling.
