Happy Independence day for all of you Americans out there. I hope everyone has a great day today (non-Americans included) and don’t get too rowdy when you guys are celebrating

Hope all enjoyed the holiday. It is heading toward 11pm here and our neighborhood still sounds like a war zone.. launched fireworks are illegal here, but none of the yahoos seem to care. I don't have issue with fireworks, really. I set of enough in my younger days, but geez. I live in a military town, near several bases. You would think folks would have a little more consideration. Go to a fireworks display, go out in the country somewhere and do your thing, but not in the middle of a subdivision. Some of us don't handle this all that well anymore.

I would be ok if this was just tonight, but it has been every night for a whole week.

I came outside to sit cause it is easier if I can see them and not just have the house rattled by them. The mutts are going nuts. I have a flight at 0530 in the morning.

OK, thanks for letting me rant.
One day I will wake up and realize that my jeep is complete...one day, I just know it.

All fireworks are illegal where I live. And we still had some dumb people setting them off. I am in a super high fire hazard area, but some people just don't care.

The local display at the high school was non-existent again. Covid and all that. Used to go up my hill and watch it from home.

Any fireworks are illegal in Los Angeles too but I was still able to enjoy a nice display from the locals. The constant rumble from the SF valley was amazing.

I remember when we went to Carlsbad several years ago. Driving through Arizona I could buy real fireworks being from Kal but the locals couldn't. At least that's my recollection. Maybe it was just that they couldn't use them but I think they couldn't even buy them. Of course I couldn't take them across the border back to Kal but that was my and Kal's problem.

They are legal in Arizona unless they travel through the air or go boom or do both. Our neighborhood also sounded like a war zone. Someone had mortar type that shot into the air and blew up but only about 30 feet off the ground. It's dangerous and extremely inconsiderate. The police can't do much since it is so wide spread.

Is that state or local law? Recent?

They had a nice selection of "sky rockets" of various sizes as I recall. Not the "safe and sane" stuff. The wife wouldn't let me buy any so i'm not positive.

Maybe it was NM.

Can you buy the good stuff on the Reservations? Maybe that was it and I misunderstood the "can't use them in AZ" thinking it was a temporary fire danger.

In Pinal County AZ (border to the East of Maricopa County here in AJ), you can light ground fireworks anytime year around, but like will e wrote not legal if they go up in the air and/or with big boom.

People have them and fire them off, but purchased out of state or as you said, on the Reservation.

Most ground are like showers of sparks, whistle, smoke, or just little popping noise like fire crackers.

The usual lame stuff....you know the ones!
