1985 AMC Eagle wagon. Was black with woodgrain and tan interior. I took all the woodgrain off of it and it looked cool! Car could go through some mud...

It was rather modified when I got it with a snazzy plywood box. FSJ's have nothing on Suzuki's in the rust department.

The engine eventually threw a rod. I parked it at my parents house intending to do something with it someday, and it was caught in a flood. That was the end of my dear old suzook.

That looks pretty cool. I'd love to get a chance to tinker with one..

My first 4x4 was a 1987 XJ with the 4.0L. The engine is still sitting outside my Dad's place. I beat the crap out of that vehicle. My second 4x4 was an '80 Toyota Truck, 4x4, lifted with 33s [no pictures of that one, though]. I had it two months, then sold it.

I guess the first thing I ever did any real offroading in was my old '90 XJ. 4.0 AX15 NP231. Bought it stock and wound up with 4"~ lift with OME shocks, Rusty's tie rod and some other mods.

My first was a 1977 waggy that was passed down to me by my father. Drove it in high school until it completely rusted out. So yeah, my first 4x4 was a FSJ..

'84 F-150, 302, auto, and 32" Buckshot Mudders on white wagon wheels! The PO had put on dual cherry bombs that dumped out in front of the rear wheels. I was 18 and green, but I thought I was the sh*t!! Ahh, those were the days.

My first was an 87 Cherokee. I bought it 2 weeks after I wrecked my first Mustang. I sold that jeep and regret that now. It was a good Jeep. I had hyper flex bushings from energy suspension, rough country shocks, and I rebuilt the engine. Sold it for 1500...what was I thinking?

I first 4x4 was also my first car that I bought at 16....it was a 79 Wagoneer. I have my parents to thank for getting me into the FSJ. When I was in 7th and 8th grade, we had an 84 and 87 Grand Wagoneer and since then I wanted one. I certainly have missed that Jeep ever since I traded it in........I wish I had pics of it, but I think they were on a roll of film that never got developed :|

This old girl, my '89. She's a royal pain but I love her... Had her 4 years now, gave my sister 500 bucks and put a transmission in along with the white fender and valance (another $200). I still consider it a screamin' deal.

My mother's 1989 grand wagoneer, which I then had in highschool. I sold it in 2013, and then I bought it back 2 years ago. The owner had driven it 3 times for around 50 miles over 6 years. Bought it back for the 5k I sold it for.
Don't ask what its cost to get it going again after it sat for 6 years. But it was worth it. It will be my son's car one day. I'm 41, he's 4. Plenty of time for a restore.

1979 Wagoneer, 360 - TH400 QT/TC, Factory alum Mags 108K orig miles.
Zero rust rig, everything works on it.
Shows reasonably well for its usage and age.
It Inspired me to "over buy" and get two more Jeep-4X4's, so now I need to widdle the heard down back to One.
Timeless classic AMC Rig.

The 1974 color Renegade Plum was supposed to be available with the Renegade package only. Paint code 509 on your VIN plate.

Very distinbctive - should have Renegade stripes, Ansen-style slots, painted roll bar, solid back panel, a bunch of other options with the package. They are all 304 equipped. Cool. There is a forum for Intermediate Jeeps (1972-75) at earlycj5.com that would be happy to help if you have questions or issues.
