TITD countdown and Sign up thread! (2018)

Post by will e »

This is the sign up thread for the 2018 Thanksgiving in the desert! A meeting of FSJ folks and their friends with a big pot luck Thanksgiving style dinner!

Also, RSTEP is asking who want's a Tee Shirt! See below!

The Feast day is Saturday the 17th of November. Dinner is usually around sunset. It's a pot luck.
Location: South of the Gila River. Take E Florence-Kelvin Hwy east until you get to Cochran Road. Cochran road is just past mile marker 15. Head North on Cochran road to the camp spot.

We usually camp around this area, about 5 or 6 miles after turning onto Cochran.

Let me know how many, what day you might show up and what you might bring for dinner!

I never come to this site anymore, but I was thinking yesterday, I bet Mike is getting the count down ready. Lo and Behold, I log in today and see there are 70 days til TiTD. WooHoo! Count me in for 2. I'll be there on Friday again, and thanks to Bob, I can drive down the dirt road with glass in my tailgate. Of course dust still come in through the floors but not through an open tailgate.

I wanted to try to come down but I'm in the middle of a job transition (good thing). I'm going to be moving up to Denver to start working on a new project. So I'll be tied up doing that for the next month or three.

That's too bad! We could use an egg timer. :) Probably going to do the Eggs benedict Friday Morning if I show up on Thursday.

Parts anyone?

I have a 79-91 factory brush guard I could bring down if someone is looking. Not shipping. It is packed to ship but comes out over size and the price goes through the roof! It's in good shape, just needs fresh paint. First $125 takes it.

HAHA!

Last weekend I took the XJ down to do a show in LA. Loaded to the gills with sound equipment to boot.

Got brought home on a flatbed from Glendale, CA :banghead: :banghead: :banghead: :banghead:

We are still planning on it, and I will bring my Brandied Cranberry Sauce, TCL-1 Cocktails, and what ever else we need for the event.
Also Bob do you want me to bring those parts down with me?
And for everyone else....................... Look at WESDOGS list of parts.
I should have my roof rack on by then, sooooooooo.
