DATA INFORMATION

Post by DARREN LILLY »

Hi how do I retrieve data information from the system to be analysed to find faults in the system. Is there any form of OBD. Thanks

Yeah, need to know which EFI you have installed. Typically the answer is "yes".

Does your sniper efi use the factory motorcraft ignition module? Because your description is textbook Duraspark failure.

Yeah, sounds like a component is getting hot, and then fails until it cools. This is typical of a failing ignition module.

It's pretty easy to datalog with the sniper system. First you need the software for your PC:

https://www.holley.com/support/resource ... _Injection

Next you need to run a data log either with the dongle for laptop connection, or by starting a log on the touch screen to be saved to the SD card:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rHjLwJQ45Kw

Also, make sure you remember to stop the data log before you cut the ignition. I believe this is fixed in newer versions of the software, but in older versions, the log would not have been saved if you cut ignition first.

When viewing a log with the Sniper software on a PC using the SD card, make sure that you first download the GCF file that the ECU is currently using to the SD card:

https://documents.holley.com/199r11031r.pdf (Page 72)

The Holley site and manual are great sources of info. I have learned quite a bit recently about the system, fine tuning, etc. from all their resources and forums:
