Alternator pulley

Post by Country Jeep »

I'm one of the nerds who got stuck with a 360 after a previous owner replaced the alternator without installing the old 2-groove pulley :) So I've got only one groove and all the belt-whine. Mine is a 79 J-10. If anyone has one that'll work, please let me know!

You can buy the pulleys brand new if you are in need of one. Its not a special AMC only part.

I tried looking on BJs, eBay, and AutoZone / AAP before posting, but wasn't able to find one. Where are they located?

Its unlikely you will find it by looking by make/model. But if you look by shaft size, you should see a bunch that come up. Provided your alternator has a shaft that is long enough for a dual belt pulley.
