1991 Grand Wagoneer A/C Mounting Bracket

Post by 88amcsuv »

I'm looking for the factory A/C mounting bracket that uses the Sanden compressor. I know of the adapter that goes on the York compressor bracket but I want a factory Sanden bracket. If you have one for sale or trade contact me at 256-393-6177. Thank you in advance for your help in finding one.

Good luck on your hunt! Those damn things are notorious for cracking at that one mounting ear. Hopefully with all of the people here, you may be able to find one that isn't cracked. But, I am sure I don't need to tell you. Anyone who says they have one for you, make sure to get some pictures of it to make sure that point isn't starting to get stress cracks and is on the verge of breaking. I don't mean to sound like this isn't information you already know. I just hate seeing people get screwed over on parts like this that are notorious for breaking.

Is it possible to repair the broken bracket with welding or JB Weld, then use a rubber bushing at this spot to remount?

If heat is involved at the location, perhaps not rubber but some other bushing that is flexible but will take heat?

Perhaps reinforce with a gusset on the face of the bracket?

New to FSJ myself, so trying to visualize description through write ups of the issue, pics would be helpful to see exactly what the issue is.

Just thinking of ways to relieve the apparent stress at this location on the bracket, either to make the bracket stronger, or be able to "float" while maintaining support.

Please show pics of the different compressors, and brackets, with pic of location where the breaking occurs.

I do not know one compressor from another.......yet, so learning as I go.
