Wanted: looking for a hub spring - 90 GW
Took one of the front hubs apart on our 90 Grand Wagoneer, to convert from manual locking hubs back to stock and discovered I am missing the hub spring, shown as #14 in the exploded parts diagram. If you’ve got a spare, please Give me a yell.

Hm; interesting - I’ve got a spring on one side & its missing on the other. Plus, am missing the spring cup that sits behind it.
Found a couple companies with these parts in stock; TeamGrandWagoneer and Torque King. Torque King had NOS Spicer parts for less money.

The 90 doesnt have a apring. My 90 doesnt have springs on either side. When i took it apart and posted pics. People here were scratching their heads as i had alot of stuff nit there and parts that they never saw before.
Ive seen other 90s thst dont have these springs either when doing google searchs.
So either were all missing springs. Or the later years didnt have them.

Looking into it, they did away with springs and went to spacers in the mid to late 80's. Not sure of exact year. Springs are required for manual hubs, but for drive slugs the spacers work fine.

Theyre in now; so I think Ill stick with it.
I’ve also got a set of spacers, but they don’t look anything like the exploded diagram above; pic of spacer looks twice as long as what I have. Couple that with the fact I had a spring on one side was confusing. Have acquired & installed the NOS spring cups & springs on both sides.
Our GW seems to be a Frankenstein, guess it’s possible that the front axle’s been swapped out at some point. Know the engine has - think its an 86.
