Emails, PMs, and notifiers

I got an email today about some parts I have for sale.

The sender's email address says it came from Stuka, but the actual sender of the email is a member on here.

Its always helpful to post up in the OP's thread and give them a courtesy heads up that you are messaging them.

I cant figure out how to message the guy back or how to find him on the forum.

I have only been a member on here a couple of days and have never been here before that.

Can someone please shed some light on how each function works and how to figure this all out?

Thanks!

The private message notifier comes from the forum to let you know you have one.

The same goes for notifications of topics that you are subscribed too.

As for eMails from forum members, it should show the users username, but I will have to check on that.

Quick note, I changed the sending email address to forum@fsjnetwork.com to make it more obvious that I am not personally sending them.

Also, looking at the email settings there is three options.

1: Have email sent via the forum, that way there is a record of it, but it does not allow you to reply to the user. And also lets the other party know your email without having sent the email..
2: Have email sent via an email client, so there is no record of it.
3: Disable email all together and instead rely on private messages.

Thoughts?

BTW: Moving this to forum related area.

Thanks for the swift reply. :-bd

Below is a copy of the email I received. It does not look like a PM notifier nor one that indicates a response to a topic.

I dont recognize the word "Dimma" ... is it some kind of program title like Tapatalk or is this the member's screen name?

Not having a way to know who actually sent the email like an IFSJA email makes it difficult to figure out who the sender is much less how to make contact with them.

"Hello tigger4x,

The following is an e-mail sent to you by Dimma via your account on "Full
Size Jeep Network". If this message is spam, contains abusive or other
comments you find offensive please contact the webmaster of the board at
the following address:

stuka@fsjnetwork.com

Include this full e-mail (particularly the headers). Please note that the
reply address to this e-mail has been set to that of Dimma.

Message sent to you follows
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Hi,
Would like to buy your tiallights. Would you mind shipping to Holland ?
Thanks, Frank"
Dimma is the user name that sent it as mentioned in the top line after the hello bit. They have no post, which means they cannot respond to post in the sales area (You need at least 5 post to do so). I think I am going to change it so that you need at least 5 post in order to email as well.
They may be a valid user that wants to buy your stuff, they can also not send a private message until they have 5 post as I recall. This is to keep down any mass spammings in the event a non-valid user gets in.
