April 26 NorCal Meetup pics

Post by Renodemona »

A great time was had by all! Pizza in Auburn, some Jeep-related talk and comparisons, and a quick/easy trail run up in Colfax. Pretty views, some potholes and rocks, and a very sketchy suspension bridge...

Enjoy!

Like the louvered hood... (sigh)... I am reminded that I'm not so much a Jeep driver as a Jeep owner. Not the same at all...

For some reason, my SmartPhone® chose to act dumb and I only got 3 decent pictures...

As we were parked at the bridge drawing straws to see whose FSJ would go across and test the bridge...a pretty lady in a 4dr Unlimited that had been following us walked up to me.
"Hi, I was taking pictures of your jeeps as we drove down the mountain. Can I send them to you?"

Still waiting...

Best quote of the day from Renodemona's Dad: "So, is there some point when your Jeeps become reliable and don't need work?"
Hilarity ensued!

Thats a really cool bridge.

I think I drove my J10 daily for about 5 years with only oil changes. Of course now its gone downhill, but at one point, it was great!

Dad provided some additional photos he took that day.

This lady followed us down into the canyon in her TJ Unlimited. She had several photos she took of us and asked if she could send them to me.
While we were talking she noticed the mine behind us and said: "Is that your mine? If so, I would really like to have a closer look at your shaft."
Caught me totally off-guard.
That's when Dad snapped the photo...

I've always liked the Auburn area. It retains much of the 1840s charm and the people are generally more mellow than the valley inhabitants.
