Tell me about the Las Cruces trails...

Post by AwesomeJ10 »

I've never done any trails in Las Cruces.

Locks of rock crawling?

Pics are helpful :-D

This will be my 5th trip over...
Spring 2008 recon w/ Michael, Oct 2008 (no rig) 2009 and 2010.
...and I still have very little grasp on what is where.
Your "experts" would be Sambo and Heimeken as they have been there a lot more.

I have most of the important stuff from there archived as I heard it's not being maintained anymore.

These folks have documented a lot on both FB and YouTube.

Rocks!
Yea, lots of rocks and then bigger rocks.

My 2008 stuff is here: http://s149.photobucket.com/albums/s80/ ... esOct2008/

In 2009 I lost and 8 gig memory card so not much: http://s149.photobucket.com/albums/s80/ ... esOct2009/

In 2010 I only uploaded 1 pic: http://s149.photobucket.com/albums/s80/ ... esOct2010/

I combined 2009-10 video here: http://s149.photobucket.com/albums/s80/ ... 009-10.mp4

This is mislabeled, it's 2008: http://s149.photobucket.com/albums/s80/ ... CTest3.mp4

There is some stuff I will not do since I do not trailer my rig.

blake i have wheeled over there for a while now(since 1998)! anything from zuki's to buggy's,31" -49" tires always have a blast. there's a little bit of somethin for everyone! and we try to please the whole crowd tad, flint, etc, etc. with smaller tires an drivers like yourself.since some of us are trailer queens :ymblushing:
just fyi i dont force anyone to do anything they dont want to,we respect that \m/

for example that pic of jaime, tad & flint opt'd out and took the bypass.we didnt discourage them from not trying the ledge, just ask em!

Nice.

I'd rather take it easy and stay with the main group.

My rig is not a trailer queen - I'm driving it.... :o

That itself is the rub so to speak.
There's hard stuff that's sensible for anyone to do given the right line and some good spotting.
Then there is stuff that's questionable for folks that have to drive home in their rigs.

Having to leave a rig in a different town always sucks.
I sort of have a backup plan if stuff went painfully wrong and this applies to anyone who needed space that is secure.

I have a house and acreage in Silver City, it's about 120 miles from 'Cruces so it fits with in my AAA Premium towing package.
Myself (or anyone that needed it) could drop a rig out back, tarp it if needed (I got critters so mothballs are a must) and come back for it when time permitted.
For me, I would grab a cheap rental car or UHaul van, toss my junk in it and drive home.
