Full Size Jeep Network

I got up La Plata Canyon yesterday. You pick up La Plata Canyon Road road from Hesperus off US 160. It is 14 miles from US 160 to Kennebec Pass. This time of year, I have been lucky to get 10 miles before snow pack turned me around. I got 12.2 miles where big spruce trees shade the road. I am guessing it is a little over 10,000 feet and is above the aspen tree line. The river looks low for April and most the road is dusty. Up higher there are some wet spots and a few ponds where run off has crossed the trail. This was about a 3 hour trip.











Put it in 4wd and turned around here.

Look like I should head up that way. Sure look pretty.

It will be even prettier when the shrubs and aspens green in.

Nice shots. Our mountain roads are just about to start opening.
