Make no mistake when you come to Ouray this year. You will get high. Rocky Mountain Style.
Folks are welcome to speak up to what they are planning for the trip. I hope to have my GW shook down with Moab in a couple weeks. Then on to getting P2 home to be present at the 50th FSJ Anniversay end of the world FSJ Invasion. Be prepared to go to the top. B-)
I am still wanting to go. Its just a loooooong trek (1000 miles, or about 18 hours of driving). Needless to say I doubt my J10 would ever get driven there.
So I get to live vicariously through your guys' photos and video

I say drive what ever makes you feel comfortable and just go.
I can say this because I realized back in 2008 that it really had very little to do with what rig anyone drove, it has way more to do with the quality of people that you meet.
I can also say pretty surely that if my rig goes this year, it will be the last time I drive it that far.

I still plan on being there although I pulled the Jeep from the plans. Not enough time. I'll hitch rides and be a camp ground resident. I'l be in the F350 so on road only for me.
Like mentioned before it's the people that make it a good time.
1980 and 81 J20 melding into a 1980 Utility bed J20. Project cancelled and for sale, found a factory truck.

Too bad you're not closer, I'd say you could borrow the J10. I'm too sick to make the trip this year.

You know it's bad when your car is on the EPA's 10 most wanted list!
remotivated myself today after swapping the steering column. Starts up without an issues, just have to figure out why I can start in any gear position Have to remove the anti theft device (putting on the new steering wheel none on at this time). Just a few more items and get it on the road shake her down, load her up and head for the mountains.
Do they still sell these plates?
We did the first tour in the area in 1958.
Rented a 2A in Silverton and attempted Engineer's Pass, but too early in the season (too much snow).
Did a little more in 1969, at that time rented a brand new Bronco and did an up and over.
