After searching for months I have decided to just start a thread and post pictures of the swap. My blue wag is a 1977 that came with the 360 th400 qt. Dana 44 on both ends offset passenger side. Currently I have put in a sbc 700r4 and Dana 300. Runs fine but looking for Fuel injection and a little more power.
I have a 2014 hemi with 29k miles on it out of a ram pickup. I got the engine trans and transfer case for $1000 on Craigslist from a guy who had no idea what it was worth. I have the mopar crate engine wiring harness with PCM and DBW pedal setup for a stand alone harness and the sound German automotive stand alone wiring harness for the 8hp70 trans. Will be fabbing up mounts and crossmembers for the swap. Probably going to do the S10 gas tank although I wish I could find a 30gal tank that will fit. My biggest concern right now is the axles. Needing drivers side diff on the front and center on rear. Most of what I can find out here in the wrecking yards are 3.31 gear ratio. This will be my daily driver and the most off-roading it will see is some dirt roads. Are there any axles that will fit this project or am I stuck with piecing together grand wagoneer axles? Moving spring perches and other fab work is not a problem, but don’t want to have to regear mismatch diffs to match front and rear.
Getting excited to open this up and realize how frustrating it’s going to be

Beginning the swap with a 2014 Ram hemi with 8hp70 trans
Grand Waggy axles will bolt right in. So you will have the driver drop front, and the centered rear. The factory tank won't clear a centered rear, but sounds like you are already swapping that out for a rear mounted tank. You will also have to make a tweak to your driver side exhaust most likely to clear the drive shaft.
nice, you are doing what I want. I am looking for a good Hemi and preferably also the 8speed. $1000,- is an absolute steal! great way to start off a project efficiently!
I'll be following your build, very interesting!
