Yep as soon as I mocked the headers on the 401 pan said "NOPE" i have the 360 pan on it. which is how I ultimately found that I needed to tear deeper in, so it was a saving grace but glad its money well spentwill e wrote: ↑Mon Jan 27, 2020 12:02 pm Nice! Looking forward to the progress. Your Waggy is a twin to my 81. Same color, same 'tasteful' wood strip.
Which oil pan did you use? When I swapped in a 401 I used the pan that came with it. It ended up hitting the exhaust cross over. You probably won't have that problem since you are going with headers and a custom exhaust.

Thanks , I opted for the 3” all the way out alsoFLeetFox wrote:I have the same ones. I opted out of the Y pipe because I want to do true duals,. Looking at your picture, and at the angles of the collectors after my install; it might make sense to purchase that Y pipe and cut it off at the single collector to achieve my goals. Just add 2 new collectors and head straight back. Sorry, thinking out loud. Appreciate the pics and information. Your truck looks like it's going to Bro-ham-tastic, love the interior.

Yes I have the BJs 401 727 flywheel and I removed the bushing in the crankfulsizjeep wrote:Nice looking Brougham! Having done a 401 swap in a 80s rig myself, I just want to say one of the most over looked steps is getting a 401 flex plate for the 727. Hopefully you already have that covered.
I removed the bushing and did a quick check with out the flex plateFLeetFox wrote:2 questions. The fit of the converter hub was checked with the crankshaft end prior to assembly, yes?
#2. the spacer plate is installed between the block and the trans?
These may seem obvious, but it almost sounds as if it's too "tight."
