PO said that it ran last year. Added gas and a battery and it started right up and runs well. No brakes though, front wheel cylinders wet. Interior decent, original AM radio works!

Here is the paint/trim tag. Can anyone help with the paint code? The vehicle looks to be Avocado Mist 431.

Paint: 485 = ???
Trim: 321 = Charcoal (or better known at black)
485 : two tone paint : vintage gold + champagne white
vintage gold(434) : 23340 (dtzler) , 7317D (dupont), U_7005 (rinshed mason)
champagne white(432) : 8818 (ditzler), 7314D (dupont)
Would you mind, sharing the production date on the yellow sticker (driver door jamb) ?

Cool J2000! My truck has the same Warn Lock-O-Matic sticker on the glovebox door. The only body parts available, as you may have found, are floors and sometimes you can find rocker panels. Occasionally a NOS fender pops up.
73 J4000. 360, MC 2100, T18A, D20, stock closed knuckle Dana 44 front, 60-2 rear. Warn Lock-O-Matics, Warn/Belleview electric winch, true duals with glasspacks, old-school front diff skid plate, used 265 Toyos on 16" AR wheels.

Thank you, so this truck is one of the first 70 1/2 J2000 with the new grille and side markers. Congrats !
Wow! Thanks for the info. Did AMC take over in Feb of 1970? Do you have any production numbers for 1970? I know that my serial number is 301,940. Does that mean that mine is the 1940th produced for 1970 with the Buick Dauntless? I'm new to the whole FSJ thing, but really liking it. Thanks so much for the help!
Yes AMC took over in February or March 1970
I have some production numbers for 1970 provided by a friend , calendar year, i can't guarantee their accuracy
The serial number 301,940 is specific to the model 2406W, in other words specific to the J2000s with a Buick engine and a 5000lbs GVW also called J2500
It means that it's the 1940th J2500s with a Buick engine, production started in december 1967
Kaiser Jeep changed the grille and some other things in december 1969 (production date), so in the middle of model year '70, around one month before your production date
I don't have the exact serial numbers for this change , but there are certainly less than 200 J2500s with the new grille before yours

Thanks! I have the sticker on the dash, but I don't have the manual locks. Someone must have replaced them at one time?
So I had to put some wood shims under the cab to match the body lines on the cab and the box on the driver's side. Also, had a set of wagon wheels with 31 x 11.5 tires. It's looking good! Now if I only had brakes, LOL.

Cab mounts/bushings can be hard to find. I had a friend who was good with a lathe turn down late-70s GM body mounts to the height I needed. After that, we added a steel sleeve to get the inside diameter of the whole thing down to a size that would work with the stock Jeep body mount bolts.
That color combo on your truck is one of my favorite J truck paint treatments. Looking good.
