Great, looks like you are making progress! The valley tray is interesting, after my 360 rebuild in my AMC AMX Javelin, I put a new valley tray and intake manifold (Edlebrook air gap high rise) on. Most recommend not putting the rubber gaskets that come with the valley tray gaskets on the ends, front and rear, valley block but to use RTV. First put the intake on top of valley tray and measure the gap on the ends to see how much RTV build-up is needed. If the tray is not lined up just right, the intake bolts can be a pain to install.

Finally going to have all of my needed parts this weekend!

New water pump
New timing set
New front cover gaskets
New oil pump gaskets
New fuel pump gaskets
New intake gaskets
New alternator
New oil pan gaskets
New valve cover gaskets

If all goes well I may have it running this weekend or next week.

I also got a new grill setup!

I'll update my progress. Hopefully everything goes smooth. I'm ready to daily drive this thing already!

Thanks
Shawn

Looking good Shawn! Did you get the Fiberglas grill? I had the grill and moon pies which I hope to install soon. Interested in how things go with your build!

A little late to the party (as usual), but RE that 3 way connector that you think powers the choke and anti-diesel solenoid: That circuit IS NOT FUSED and can take out your ignition switch (under your dash, on top of the steering column) and will take out a critical fusible link and leave you dead in the water if it shorts out.

So be careful and make sure it's safely out of harm's way.

Its original/metal. There is some rust on it and the chrome isn't good at the bottom but I plan to paint it so I was ok with that.

That orange triple wire will likely be removed as I don't need a choke down here. Or at least fused and secured out of the way. Thanks!

Unfortunately I hit a weekend road block.

As I mentioned, when I first bought the jeep I had installed a new distributor. Not knowing that these things were notorious for distributor gear issues, I didn't put the old gear on the new distributor...instead I used the new gear. Mistake!
uploadfromtaptalk1363976110968.jpg
So, now I have to wait on a new set of MSD distributor drive gears, #8005 & #8007.

On anothet note...the Summit timing set I ordered is made bt S.A. gear, in the USA
uploadfromtaptalk1363976048392.jpg
And, I did begin removing my front end to prep for the Rhino conversion. It looks fairly straight forward. I just need to make up my mind on which lights I want.

Cleaned up the sealing surfaces for the intake and timing area...gotta wait on the new distributor gears before I can button it all up though!

I'll probably pull the valve covers and repaint them, and reseal them as well.

Planning to clean and paint all of the accessory brackets and pulleys also.

Slowly going back together, cleaned up with a few new parts! Waterpump, timing set, MSD distributor and cam gears, oil pump kit, all new radiator hoses, and new gaskets everywhere!

Still need to stab the dizzy, finish vacuum hoses, connect trans cooler with new hoses, secure hard trans lines which were previously dangling, fill the cooling system, clean-up and reroute the fuel lines, and clean up and connect the wiring.

I pray this thing is leak-free and runs ok! Once its running I'll give it a few hundred miles and change the oil again.

Here's an updated grill pic. I need to find a 2nd set of lights and get rid of the pie pans...

I also plan to black out the core support.

I really like the modified y pipe on your exhaust. I've been looking at headman headers. Do you know if they are the 99250s?
