This is a video of the first start up. The smoke is just the new "stuff" burning off. She is quiet and sounds great. This is the break in period and we are running the engine at a higher RPM then idle.

I enlisted my wife to help me with this video. This is how the engine is now. The squeaking is just the belts on newly painted pulleys. I am very happy with how this turned out. Plus the correct vacuum lines need routed, they were removed by the PO. That will happen sometime in the next few weeks.

Well, I have the carb and vacuum lines correct. She is sounding and running GREAT! Looking back at some of the pics of the install I'm disappointed that there is so much dirty old stuff on top of the engine, since the engine is so pretty. Oh we'll, she runs!

Since this build came back up, I wanted to post that it is a great thread, and great job on the engine. I hope to one day build a 401 so, I can use this thread for some much needed information. Great Job

Is there any way you can send that PowerPoint for assembling pushrods and hydrolic lifters?
