broken frame horns / motor mounts

Post by AwesomeJ10 »

I jumped the Honcho at the tough trucks and crushed my frame horns. Both sides are crushed down and need replaced.

Does anyone make a complete motor mount assembly? Or do I need to make my own?

I do not know of any complete replacements for use with an AMC, only for engine swaps (SBC mounts and such). So you may be on your own. Although I am sure some other people have had to do it and may have some tips.

Best thing I can tell you would be a salvage yard. Tell em what you want/need, they'll probably cut it out for you.

No, I don't want a stock replacement frame horn. The stock ones can't handle severe abuse. The stock motor mounts are also pretty weak (I've broken probably 10 of them).

I was just wondering if anyone actually made STRONG replacements.

I'll come up with a design, make it and test it :D

All the aftermarket mounts I've seen (for engine swaps) are 3/16th mild steel.

Your own design will most likely be the best way to go.
