Voltmeter bouncing?

I did the Sunpro voltmeter mod on my 85. Then I swapped in a fuel injected Dodge engine. I noticed it bounces all over the place, not sure if it did it before the swap. Won't do it at an idle or not moving, but the bouncing (like from 10 to 18 volt swing) doesn;t necessarily match the bumps in the road.

Anyone else have this? Been thinking of getting another.

Doing some reading on a classic Broncos site, there may be some interference with the speedo magnet?

At speed put the truck in neutral. If it stops bouncing (like when you are at idle) then it's not the speedo. If it keeps bouncing you may have found your problem.

If at idle and not moving the volt meter doesn't move then at speed, if the engine is at idle but the speedo is still moving it will tell you if the speedo is causing the issue.
