vacuum question?

Post by muddy »

I installed a vacuum gauge in the cab so I could monitor the engine vac while driving.
I was wandering if anyone else had done the same, and what your average "driving down the highway" vacuum is at?
while driving at 55mph, I seem to be setting at 12" vac and 2250rpm. does this seem about right to everyone?

worth noting, at warm idle, it's pulling a steady 18-20".

thanks,
muddy

My J4000 had one the PO installed. Aside from telling me when the motor stalled before the exhaust pipes rotted, it would tell me when it shifted too. The amount you push the long pedal will affect it and the higher the number, the better the fuel economy (supposedly, but with Motorcrafts and Holleys with powervalves, it's more true than not))
