Left rear e-brake cable for lift

Post by pcoplin »

4 inch Springs, and even after removing the rear bolt holding the left rear e-brake cable, it's stretched tight at right height. Are there longer options?

You can have them custom made. I have never checked on theprice but I can't imagine "custom" as being cheap. Another option is the cable for a long wheel base J-truck. I used them on my SOA/SF. They are quite a bit longer.

Thanks Goatman. I'll check out the J10 rear cables. Looks like there are a couple options on Rockauto.

I also need a longer front cable since I moved my crossmember back to the 6cyl mounts.

i need to figure something out too, i have the 4" lift, i was able to get the stockers to work, but i just moved the axle back about 1 1/2 and have to pull the cables off. i thought of moving the brackets back on the frame and just dealing with the intermediate cable, thats what i wound up doing on my duster. i know the cable is different but on that i just made a new intermediate out of aircraft cable i made new balls out of the non threaded shank on a bolt, and plug welded it to the cable. seems to work fine i jsut think it has more strech. i wanted to have some cables made for my duster, and i had no luck finding anyone that would do it around here.

I moved the brkts back about 3" and then lengthened the cable connectors. Saved me from trying to find new parts...
