I don’t have a pic yet, but I put the crossmember in the aft set of holes and just extended it to the rear with a 2” piece of angle iron. That will put the OEM transmission mount essentially level with the top of the crossmember.
Should the tail of the tranny be higher than that? I plan on running 37” tires on ton axles, so I’m guessing 8-9” of lift??
You will want the lowest part of the transfer case to be 1/2-3/4" higher than the bottom of the frame, whatever it takes to make that happen.
as for lift amount it completely depends on how much sheet metal you are willing to trim. I currently could run 35's with 2-1/2" of lift with minor trimming, currently running 33's so no trimming required, even when it was stock. keep in mind, the lower the lift the better it will drive, the better it drives, the better it works in the dirt. Poor road manners are still present in the dirt, it just masks them. Those poor manners do limit performance in every aspect whether in the dirt or on the road. 37's fit stock if you're willing to trim enough
If you wheel it, low lift will drive circles around the tall trucks unless you're into mud pits, then yes you need more clearance.
