Running Wire Harness into old doors

Post by elowsma »

Looking for info from a successful build. I have added power windows, locks and speakers to a 78 wagoneer. Any suggestions on the best way to run that harness bundle through doors to the body (front and back). The 78 body does not have the holes used later with the hard plastic wire router/protector used on FSJs.

Measure hole location on a rig that uses the harness from the factory, drill your holes, and run the wires.

Very nice work

Looks like wiring would last a long time with that sweep

Pretty good... now for the challenge.... how conveniently do you remove that spyder web of wires if you want to swap the driver's door or passenger's door... A few months at the JY I was tempted to pick up a spare front door... but then ... Yes I can cut off the wiring at the JY... but when I have to swap my own.... it looks like a headache....

a few tips... are certainly welcome

Good point, and why the were factory with rubber grommets, to allow the plugs to pull through for repair.
