Okay so the plan currently is to pull the jeep drivetrain (360/TF727/np219) and replace it with an complete Escalade drivetrain (Ls 6.2l/6l80/awd case). I have a shop and have done several ls swaps on different vehicles this one is for my mom and step dad and it is going to be around for years to come....also will be good advertising. With that said Im not 100% sure of what ive gotten myself into so any advise or help would be greatly appreciated! Unless someone can give me a factual reason that drivetrain will not work please dont recommend changing any of those components! This thing will see very little off-road nothing that would require 4lo and since the np219 was an all time 4wd case anyways going to awd was a reasonable option. Anyways already have the drivetrain as well as computer, pedal, and wiring harness/fuse box (if i dont go aftermarket) and a lokar shifter that allows the use of manual gear selection. It is a wide track not sure of the gear ratio but plan to keep the axles its on 33s right now with no lift also going to be thinking about getting the a/c working and rewiring the entire truck... So any advise on parts or venders or anyone that has already done this drivetrain please help out...

No reservations here, only thing I would say is measure your clearances around the transmission, engine mounts, steeringshaft / box and headers or exhaust manifolds.

Other than that, go for it!

I compare it to mine, just starting to put the 5.7 hemi in the frame, I measured multiple times, and still found out I need a rear sump oil pan only when I had the engine hanging above the front axle. You’ll need to be inventive but since you have done a few and have a shop you should be fine.

Enjoy the journey and keep us up to date!

Should work fine. I think it will work great. 1st gear is low enough work well even without low range. Biggest hurdles will be programming for good shift points and yolk for the front output of the transfer case. Physical fitment shouldn’t be too big of a challenge. As for gearing my gut says 3.73 but I haven’t run the numbers. I’ve used that engine and transmission in a couple of builds, absolutely love it, they rip with a good tune, add a cam shaft and it gets stupid power crazy fast, 500hp/500tq is very doable.

Is there any concern about the frame, etc. handling the 400+ HP and 450+ ft/lbs from this drivetrain? Or if you add programming, even more? I am considering either the LS or an L86 swap. My axles are upgraded with D60 rear and HD44 front. But I know the frame flexes quite a bit, so wondering if boxing the frame or other reinforcements are warranted. My rig will also not see heavy trail use.

Please keep us posted on progress!

The frames do flex quite a bit but will have no issues with the power levels that you are looking at. Now ad a set of twins in the exhaust….. lol

Some have used S10 tanks (mid 90's as I recall) mounted behind the rear axle. These are already setup with an in tank pump that can feed the pressures for EFI, are have enough volume for at least a moderate V8. But higher output pumps are available.

EDIT: This one is in an FJ40, but same idea: https://forum.ih8mud.com/threads/1964-f ... on.996284/
