TH 400 kickdown

Post by itselliott »

Has anyone done a kickdown switch on the passenger side of the carb? Please share fotos or information as to what was needed to make this work. I don't have enough pedal travel due to my current set up and I am using a Holly 4160 600cfm 4bbl

FOUND WHAT I NEED....on Ebay!!

Elliot, isn't the kickdown for the TH400 located on the accelerator pedal?

Yes Sir it (was) but when I went to a Holly the travel of the stock set up was not long enuf....I had to remove the switch to get what I needed.
So a guy on FleaBay is selling a nitros switch that mounts on the Holly. I'll use that set up to switch the TH400 into passing mode.

Just a note on the turbo 400 throttle switch . Full size GM cars using the transmission had a throttle switch on carb , mostly 60s Cadillac Buick etc . An eBay find or obsolete parts website. The GM trucks use the pedal switch from 73 up most often . I'd check 70s cars as well Fleetwood etc for throttle switch . You can locate the switch and the bracket on the a dual vehical if you can locate one . So alternative idea .
