PIC THREAD: NT waggys on 35s

Post by Yogi »

I recently acquired a decent 1979, bone stock wag and am now obsessed with the notion of putting it on 35s. Requesting pics of NT wags on 35s and any type of lift. Please, don't be shy!

RanJetFSJ, I am willing to trim as much as needed.

Hey, it's Wally again! With flares? The evolution continues!

Yep. It's always something. ;)

A little better view...

I had to trim the rear quarter about an inch and a half but it was more because we set the axle a little bit back from center of wheel wells

I too have this goal. I have a 3” body lift and was hoping a 2” suspension lift will get me there with trimming (as long as it doesn’t get into the wood panel I’m ok with it).
White ‘91 GW with 350 swap. 700r4 transmission. NP 241c T-case. Rusty’s 3” body lift. Currently on 31x10.5x15 Milestar Patagonia M/T tires. Holley sniper EFI and complete Novak cooling system.

So, these tires aren't true 35's, but they were larger than a BFG 35" at the time. So they are close enough for the purposes of this. My Cherokee was a narrow track, so same fender openings as a Waggy. Front and rear fenders were trimmed to the bend in the flare, and it had a 6" lift. Wheels are 15x8 K10 Rally Wheels (late 70's GM, and optional on WT Cherokees and J10s).

The only rubbing was on the front springs at full lock. And this was just barely as I adjusted out the turn stops to limit it.

Rusty's lift, right? Looks like it flexes fine. Glad I bought the same kit. Nice pics.

Sorry guys, missed this response and haven't been on here much.
I'm on d44s out of a 80 full size blazer. 4.56 gears
35x12.50 passenger drop NP241c transfer case and a 4l60e tranny. Im also using WFO front cradle for a 88-93 Chevy. It ties the front fame rails together and is the same factory width for the front leafs.

Thanks you , took it to the West Coast National's couple of weeks a go, 75-80 mph over the Altamont in Pleasanton rides bad but handles well, people came over and talked to me all week end .
