Longer wheel studs

Post by supergeess »

I am looking to replace my wheel studs with longer ones. I have been looking and looking and am unable to find any longer ones for my 77 Chief. Has anyone done this and what did you use? Also what is process of removing the front hubs? I'm sure it's straight forward, but I have never done it before and just want to know what I'm getting into.

I've never done it for the Wag, but have you tried the local parts store? Go to one with actual books, and look up the size and knurl of the stock ones, and look for some longer ones. I found ones that were perfect for a hub swap on my TJ that way.

You can also go with extended thread lug nuts if you just need a little bit.

I used 90s model C/K2500 wheel studs and used them on my K5 Blazer. They are much bigger and stronger. Remove the old smaller lugs, drill the flanges and install the bigger studs. Have fun :-bd

I always call Summit Racing and they will search for the correct knurle and stud size for you and if they are wrong you can return them.
