Hi. New to forum. I posted this question in the stock section by mistake. I've got a 1984 grand wagoneer and doing an engine swap. 5.3 ls engine, 4l60e transmission and GM 246 transfer case. Question is about what type motor mounts and how to hook up drive shafts to gm transfer case. Factory shaft bolts on and gm has slip in yoke. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.
As I recall novak or advanced adapter has LS conversion mounts available. Several people here have done LS swaps, so you should be able to do some searching for that.
For drive shafts, you are most likely going to need new front and rear shafts. You might be able to get away with having the rear shaft shortened, and have a slip added to it instead of the OEM flange mount. The front shaft will most likely end up being longer than stock though because the 4L60E is longer than the original TF727.
But don't get any drive shaft mods done until after the engine and trans/t-case are mounted so that you can take measurements.
Thanks for your answer to my question. So you think it will be ok to use a slip on yoke at transfer case. I'll have to see what type angle I'll have after assembly. Again thanks.
