My oversized tires and wider than stock axles cause rubbing. I need to trim. I figure a cutting wheel is best? Any particular size of wheel recommended? Are there different 'types' of cutting wheels? Any specifically I should use?
4.5" is really manageable, it's an electric grinder size so you can use two hands with the second handle and don't have to wait for a compressor to keep up with a die grinder, and the "Warrior" wheels are cheap for the wafer-thin thickness at HF. There are different types of cut-off wheels for different types of material, but you have to go looking for the goofy ones; you're not going to buy a Bee-Line for aluminum on accident.
I'm looking forward to what you do, you've done a lot to keep that rig looking sharp in spite of all the mods you've already done!

Okay. What the heck is a 'death wheel'?
Angle grinder with a cut off wheel The "death wheel" is really used for any large cut off wheel, because if they break they send shrapnel everywhere. So, wear face protection

Don't touch your face!
I had a full face protection but it broke. I like your advice and will pick up another (if they are available during these weird virus times) and also use safety glasses and some heavy gloves.

Anyone cut out their rusted rocker panels and replaced then with welded in 2x8 tube steel? I'm thinking of doing this... Any tips?
I would probably start your own thread for this. People here have done it, but would be best for that discussion to be in its own thread so as to not derail this one.
