Hello! I am hoping someone can shed some light on my situation here.
This is the set up I have.
2010 6.2 DBW with a mild gwatney cam with VVT
The transmission and PCM are from an 07 Escalade also came factory with 6.2 / 6l80.
Psi conversion harness
VATS system deleted
NO TUNE YET ** I have not had it tuned at a Dyno shop yet, could this be the problem? The shops I have talked to have said that it should run or should be able to make it and keep it running even with a slightly larger cam. So I didn't want to waste my time taking it up there if I have another issue.
The problem I am having is it will not stay running. Even if I try to keep it running with throttle / carb spray.
It fires right up for 5-8 seconds than dies out.
My cam rpm signal and crank rpm signal are matching at 2250 I checked and double checked the pinouts for the cam sensor. They are correct. Tried replacing the cam sensor still exact same thing. Runs for 5-8 seconds and dies out. Cam / crank signals are matching rpms. Shouldn't the cam sensor signal be almost half of the Crank?
Anyone experience this before or have any suggestions?
Thanks
Brandon
Yes it is the engine with factory AFM, I did the AFM delete though.
We actually got it figured out the other day. Hopefully this will help someone else out there.
Since my transmission and ECM were from an 07 Escalade with a 6.2 it was not communicating properly with the 2010 6.2 engine / sensors. We had to upload a slightly newer (2009 Cadillac) OS and BOOM she fired right up and stayed running. Working on getting the exhaust done up this week then up to the Dyno for final tune!
This brings up a question/concern I have had with searching for drivetrains..
I am currently of the belief that all transmissions that came behind various LS engines don’t necessarily work with all other LS engines/ECMs. It creates paralysis for me when looking at components if i can’t find the exact combination from a single donor vehicle.. Any guidance on that is greatly appreciated!
Glad you found the firmware upgrade fixed the issue.
One day I will wake up and realize that my jeep is complete...one day, I just know it.
