I've been looking at seats and really like the Durango seats but don't need the video accessories. I know Dakota seats are a preference and easier swap but haven't found any in the right color and decent shape yet. I did run across a set of Charger seats and was wondering if anyone has put them in a J truck. Any other suggestions are welcomed.
It shouldn't be hard to make anything fit, if you have a welder. I had Fiero seats in mine several years ago, only had to extend the seat bracket an inch or two and it bolted up to the Wagoneer track. I like the seats in my '14 Fusion Titanium and have considered finding a junkyard set for the Wag.
the Jeep Liberty has pretty decent seats. And their manual, so you don't have to deal with wiring. I got two for my '81 Cherokee.
$20 ea from a pull-it. (and there's plenty of Liberty's near me in the yards..)
Or if you want a 'formed' bench.. I pulled a 2nd row from a Chevy astro? van. MINT condition, and had the center fold down center along with side fold down arm rests. I put it in my '95 2500HD ex cab as main front seating. Again, dirt cheap!

I currently own 2 KJ Libertys, used to own another and rented a KK for a weekend road trip, once. If you don't spend a long period of time in them, they're OK seats. But, even my Limited edition with electric (5-way, iirc) seats got pretty uncomfortable after 3-4 hours on the road. I'd look for something newer, if looking for comfort. If you only spend an hour in the seat at a time, they'd be a good cheap upgrade for sure, though.
